What is Response Net?

Response Net is short for Response Network which is creating a network of the abilities of thousands of organizations and individuals in a connected way for the benefits of the development sector universally.

How do I register and how much will it cost me?

This is a totally free online service. To get started you will need to register by clicking on the Register link on the top right corner of the page and then follow the instructions.

You should receive an activation email containing further instructions in your email that you have provided at the time of registration to activate your account. Please note that you will not be able to login unless you follow the instructions in the email.


How much does it cost for the users?

It is a free membership for users until and unless the user would like to avail the paid services provided by Response Net which are available in our services section.

The NGO and civil society stakeholders manage the content of the Professional Resources section. Information here provides civil society organizations an opportunity to promote dialogue and disseminate information on development issues and to enhance collaborations and learning with key players in the development sector. To submit a new post to a group, just visit the homepage of Prevention, Planning & Preparedness and click the "Start a new topic" link just under the groups name near the bottom of the page.


How do I post or reply to an existing group?

To reply to an existing topic, click "Reply to topic " near the bottom of the posting. The post may be reviewed by a moderator.


What are the points I need to keep in mind when posting on Response Net Groups:

Be brief
Don't post the same information in multiple groups and topics
Be careful what you mention about others
Don't use this as an advertisement space
Information you post must be relevant to the forum being posted in


How long does it take for my postings to appear in a group?

In groups that aren't moderated, postings usually appear in seconds. But when you submit a post to a moderated group, it won't be posted to the group until the moderator has approved it.


How do I reply directly to the author instead of to the group?

To reply to the author, click on the email icon link on top of the topic and follow the instructions.


What is listed in the Calendar

All postings on Response Net that are linked with a date are reflected in our calendar for easy indexing and reference. You may click on any date to get the information for that is for that specific date


How can I be added to the online directory of civil society?

This is an Associates only area and you may visit our Associate link in our services to learn more and follow the instructions to get listed.

Do I have to sign up with Response Net to use Response Net?

You can access public content on Response Net without signing up. You can also post in the Professional Resources and Networking and the Funding & Accountability sections without signing up.

But to add content to the Prevention, Planning & Preparedness groups you will need to create a Free Response Net account. To create a Response Net account, just click the Register link on the top right side of the Response Net page and follow the instructions.

How do I remove my own posts?

To remove a post from Response Net Professional Resources and Networking & Funding and Accountability

Follow the directions to submit the following information:
  1. The email address originally used to post the messages.
  2. The complete Response Net URL for each individual message you'd like to have removed.
  3. Your full contact information, including your legal name.
  4. Your reason for requesting removal.
We will review your request and process the removal on your behalf if we find the information to be accurate.


Can I post images or share a file with my group?

You can post rich text information in the description boxes allowing you to post images or formatted information straight from documents into the description box. This gives you the ease to upload information immediately.
