Organisation Activities in Brief: This organisation works for grassroots development and aims at empowering disabled, destitute and abandoned women, children and the elderly.
It seeks to:
Create awareness of the rights of oppressed women, children and education for all
Create a society based on health and family welfare
Build community capacities to become self-sustainable through the promotion ofhealthy lifestyles, environmental protection and various workshops and campaigns
Stimulate the concept of ‘self help’ through community participation
In addition to this the organisation also runs a special school for disabled children where volunteers are required.
Project Information: This Special School is an intervention centre for children with Cerebral Palsy, mental disabilities, autism and multiple disabilities between the ages of 0-16 years. Children are referred to the centre from both remote villages and urban slums by medical professionals. Children are identified through a new born screening assessment and then given needs based therapeutic intervention for their development, along with parental counselling. At age 6 children are enrolled in our special school and provided with activities for daily functional living and suitable vocational training.

Accommodation if Available and details:Volunteers can be accommodated in the Swadhar Women Shelter Home and De-Addiction Centre, about 8 km from our project office. This lodging is free of cost
Meals if available and details: Normal meals will be provided at free of cost
Transportation if available and details: Government and private buses are locally frequently available. Volunteers can also use a bicycle provided by the organization.

1.To facilitate the children motor development
2.To normalise muscle tone
3.To prevent further contracture and deformity
4.To reduce the pathological reflex
5.To improve the gait pattern
Community Based Rehabilitation
1.To maintain the proper posture in all positions e.g. : sitting and standing
2.To improve the gait pattern by using wooded parallel bars
3.To improve the activities of daily living skills and adaptive devices
4.To prevent problems like contracture, deformity and to provide training to parents to do passive, stretching to limbs.
