Volunteer in India for documentation, communication and marketing of a street child organisation

 

Name of the Project: Volunteer in documentation, communication and marketing for an organisation that focuses on street children

Project Information:  This organisation focuses on street children living in New Delhi train station and surrounding areas. Approximately 600 children are supported through shelters, contact points and outreach services. The organisation also provides children with vocational and livelihood training once they have finished school.  Volunteers are required in behind the scenes documentation, communication and marketing of the organisation and are welcome to present new ideas in these areas.

Project Locations:  Paharganj

State: Delhi

Project Duration:  Ongoing

Language Preference: English and Hindi

Experience required (If any): Previous knowledge in documentation, IT, communication and marketing advantageous

Attributes/Qualities Required:

-          Open minded, motivated and pro-active

-          Able to work autonomously on documentation, communication and/or marketing

Period of Volunteering opportunity: Minimum one month

Age Range:  18 yrs and above

Typical work/s for volunteer: The organisation is open to new ideas and volunteer work is based around individual skills, talents and interests. It can include but is not limited to the following:

-          Documenting the organisation’s work in an effective and user-friendly way

-          Creating individual case-studies and databases to store information

-          Event organising, research, fundraising, awareness and communication

-          Teaching and assisting office staff in computer work such as anti-virus training or Excel spreadsheet skills

-          If desired volunteers can also be involved in teaching the children
