Volunteer in India for microcredit, microfinance and micro enterprise projects
Name of the Project: Urban livelihood and microcredit
Highlights of the project:
This opportunity provides you the scope to work closely with microcredit groups on livelihood issues resulting from acute poverty and vulnerability among women. You will work on issues of self-employment and skills development to increase self-employment options. You can also contribute your abilities to a series of sustainability measures such as: capacity building, human resource development, networking and linkage building and promoting local development committees.
The main focus areas of this project are:
-To improve livelihood support systems through awareness building
-To increase community empowerment and mobilisation
-To increase participation in the local governance/development process.
Project Location
City / Village: Saboli and Harsh Vihar, North-East Delhi
Language Preference: Hindi & English
Experience required: Experience in the field of micro-credit, Microfinance, or community based work is desirable.
Attribute/Qualities Required:
-Should have an understanding of urban credit issue.
-Ability to understand urban governance and vulnerability and livelihood opportunities.
Period of volunteering opportunity: Minimum one month
Age Range: 25 and above
