We believe the right to chose the immediate needs of the affected individuals and communities help them get back on their feet faster is best chosen by indivduals themselves. Disaster relief can cover wide range of activities that can be appropriately shown under various items listed in Schedule VII. For example,
  1. (i)  medical aid can be covered under ‘promoting health care including preventive health care.’
  2. (ii)  food supply can be covered under eradicating hunger, poverty and malnutrition.
  3. (iii)  supply of clean water can be coveredunder ‘sanitation and making available safe drinking water’.
